MidEuropa | Works on Paper Collection

After extensive consultation with MidEuropa’s executive team, we shaped an annual exhibition series to reflect locations of business and capture the company’s dynamic spirit; one that values both tradition and innovation. Artists from Ukraine, Poland, Serbia and beyond were carefully selected to reflect this duality, offering work that echoes heritage while embracing the new.

Through colour, I reclaim space. I want people to feel brightness even when the world dims. In this photograph, I chose to reimagine reality not as a form of escape but as a way to soften its edges and amplify its beauty.
— Kate Hrynko (Ukranian artist)

Art Acumen partnered with MidEuropa, Central Europe’s leading private equity firm, to curate a thoughtful art programme that reflects their bold approach. By showcasing transformation through a creative lens and drawing from the geographies where MidEuropa operates, the programme offers a rich and resonant narrative. The result is a bespoke collection, encompassing diverse perspectives, varied mediums, and culturally informed artistic approaches.

This collection features five artists, each exploring the possibilities of paper with quiet precision and emotional weight. From etching and analogue photography passed down through mentorship, to digital techniques that push artistic frontiers, the artworks reveal how legacy and progression can coexist in perfect dialogue.

A standout work within the collection is Ukrainian Spring, a fine art photograph by Kate Hrynko. Measuring 80 x 100cm, Hrynko’s piece is a radiant counterpoint to turmoil, an act of emotional resilience and transformation.

Her lens captures the emotional duality of fear and hope, born from the experience of war. By colourising the narrative, she reframes memory into optimism, an artistic gesture that speaks to the spirit of survival, and the quiet power of visual storytelling.
