Curating Compassion, Connection and Cultural Intelligence
In partnership with global law firm CMS, Art Acumen curated a dynamic exhibition and events programme designed to spark meaningful conversations around diversity, inclusion, empathy, social mobility and mental health. Rooted in our commitment to emotional resonance and ethical impact, this initiative places art at the centre of dialogue—amplifying personal stories, inspiring deeper connection and celebrating individual expression.
The inaugural exhibition, In the Mind’s Eye by conceptual photographer Suzie Larke, was developed in response to her own experience of mental health. Through layered visual metaphors, Suzie challenges media stereotypes and expands understanding of depression beyond the cliché of ‘head in hands’ imagery. Her work reveals the hidden, and in doing so, cultivates empathy and fosters meaningful human connection.
Timed to coincide with CMS’ event This is Me: The Importance of Expression to Mental Health, the exhibition launched alongside the firm’s powerful new film, featuring eleven staff members sharing personal mental health journeys. This moment of collective vulnerability marked a turning point in CMS’ ongoing commitment to wellbeing and open dialogue.
To deepen engagement, Art Acumen curated a panel discussion featuring Suzie Larke, comedian Jayde Adams, and CMS partners, exploring how creativity offers space for emotional processing, especially when words fall short.
Suzie’s exhibition remains on display at CMS’ London HQ for three months, before touring the firm’s Sheffield, Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, bringing visibility and compassion across regions.
