Decarbonisation Journey

Stories Hand-Cut into Something Tangible

When Osborne Clarke made its landmark move to Halo, one of the UK’s most sustainable office spaces, it was more than a change of location. It was a bold statement of intent and a clear declaration of their commitment to transformation, driven by decarbonisation, sustainability and forward-looking innovation.

In response, Art Acumen curated a collaboration that speaks to both vision and values, commissioning celebrated papercut artist and illustrator Sarah Dennis to bring poetic storytelling into the new space.

Sarah’s triptych was inspired by a collective poem shaped through dialogue across the Osborne Clarke community. The poem emerged from immersive workshops and reflective questionnaires led by a poet in residence. Her artwork responds with elegant complexity.

  • The first artwork portrays the present moment, giving voice to individual journeys, acts of courage, challenge and growth toward environmentally conscious living.

  • The second illustrates the future, capturing aspiration and imagination: a world reimagined with clarity and hope.

  • The final piece is a promise, a symbolic contract of action, forged through shared understanding and forward momentum.

This is what happens when values are given form, and when client and artist voices converge to create something emotionally compelling and enduring.

This commission wasn’t just an artwork,it was an experience. The process was collaborative, thoughtful and beautifully human. Art Acumen elevated our values, translating them into something timeless and tangible.

Sarah’s practice is rooted in meticulous hand-cut detail, inspired by Oriental traditions and layered through both analogue and digital techniques. Her visual language is intricate, deliberate and moving, inviting contemplation of our relationship with nature and each other.
