Pfrommer constructs vibrant visual worlds shaped by motion, texture and light.

Sven Pfrommer

Berlin‑born artist Sven Pfrommer is a contemporary photographer and visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice moves fluidly between photography, painting, and printmaking. Working internationally, he creates mixed‑media works that merge photographic imagery with layers of colour, texture, and graphic intervention, using materials such as acrylic, resin, aluminium, copper, wood, canvas, lambda and dibond. His cross‑disciplinary approach blurs the boundaries between mediums, resulting in dynamic visual worlds where movement, abstraction, and human presence intersect.

Pfrommer’s acclaimed series Human Blur draws on two decades of observing people around the globe, transforming fleeting silhouettes into kinetic compositions that reveal the aesthetics of imperfection and the energy of life in motion. In East by West, he turns his lens toward the United States, creating vibrant mixed‑media collages that capture the spirit of travel, urban culture, and the sensory overload of American landscapes. Across his practice, Pfrommer’s work reflects a fascination with the interplay of light, shadow, and layered meaning

His works have been exhibited internationally in museums and galleries, published widely, and collected across many countries. A graduate of Visual Communication, he continued his studies at the Royal College of Art in London on a British Council scholarship, later receiving honours including the Berlin Airlift Prize, the Walter Thiemann Award, and a Prix Gold at the 2021 PX3 for his series Tokyo Crossing. Pfrommer collaborates with galleries, architects, designers, and consultants worldwide, bringing large‑scale art projects and installations to life.

Interview:

“I’m interested in combining photographic imagery with painterly processes, layering movement, blur, texture, and spatial rhythm to create works that exist between photography and contemporary painting.”
