Krati Doshi is an abstract artist whose contemplative practice explores balance, perception and embodied experience through colour, repetition and form.

Krati Doshi

Working across painting, drawing and mixed media, she develops a distinctive visual language built upon rhythmic mark-making and intuitive composition. Her works invite moments of pause and reflection, encouraging viewers to engage with the subtle relationships between movement, space and sensation.

Born in India, Doshi studied Fine Art at Birmingham School of Art before completing an MFA in Fine Art at Kingston School of Art. Throughout her practice, she has been interested in art as a medium for contemplation, using abstraction as a means of translating personal experience into visual form.

At the heart of Doshi's work is a process of repetition. Through meticulous layering, recurring gestures and carefully considered compositions, she builds paintings that oscillate between structure and spontaneity. Muted palettes and organic forms create a sense of calm, while obsessive mark-making introduces an underlying energy that reflects the tensions between order and disorder, certainty and chance.

Drawing on ideas informed by phenomenology, Doshi seeks to capture lived and perceptual experiences, distilling them into essential visual elements. Her works often function as meditative spaces, where form, colour and rhythm combine to create a dialogue between the artwork and the viewer. Through this process, she explores how art can offer moments of grounding and balance within the complexities of everyday life.

My practice is a search for balance. Through repetition, colour and mark-making, I create spaces for reflection that emerge from everyday experiences and invite quiet contemplation.
